This project involves widening approximately 8.585 miles of State Road 50 in Sumter County, Florida, from east of County Road 757 to east of the Sumter/Lake County line. The scope includes expanding the roadway from two lanes to four lanes with a 40-foot-wide median, adding median openings and left-turn lanes, constructing two new two-lane roundabouts at the intersections with S.R. 471 and C.R. 469, and installing a 12-foot-wide shared-use path along the south side of S.R. 50 to connect with the Van Fleet Trail. Right-of-way acquisition has been completed, and the project is in final plans update with construction anticipated to begin in fall 2026 using an alternative bid delivery approach.
