Showalter Road at Perini Avenue Intersection Improvements. The Board of County Commissioners of Washington County, Maryland, will accept sealed bids for this contract. Details, specifications, and addenda are available on the online bidding site. The project will reconfigure the intersection of Showalter Road and Perini Avenue from a full movement to a right-in/right-out traffic pattern. The existing concrete island will be reconstructed and a new concrete median will be constructed on Perini Avenue. Showalter Road will be widened to provide a 350' acceleration lane and 164' taper section. The curb on the southeast corner of the intersection will be reconstructed. Approximately 264' of traffic barrier will be relocated and 77' of new traffic barrier will be constructed. New line striping and signage are proposed for the new traffic pattern.
