Renovate the existing D Building at Georgia Northwestern Technical College at the Floyd Campus. The comprehensive interior renovation includes vocational trade instructional spaces: instrumentation and controls, industrial systems, precision manufacturing, and automotive technology. Classrooms, offices, and storage spaces are utilized in conjunction with each of the vocational trade instructional spaces. The vocational spaces are being reused by the same programs that currently use these spaces. Automotive technology includes a repair garage. Precision manufacturing includes machinery tools and metals. Instrumentation and controls, and industrial systems programs are educational facilities for use with electrical and mechanical equipment. The building is one story and does not have any mezzanine spaces. New restrooms, electrical, and mechanical support spaces are also included in the interior renovation. - Exterior improvements: new entrance into enlarged lobby space and entrance for three vocational trade programs, an enclosed walkway, new lobby entrance for automotive technology, new pre-engineered canopy system, new exterior sidewalks, an additional automotive bay, expansion of an existing loading dock, exterior painting, infill of existing openings, and creation of new openings.
