The Work consists of the construction of a new facility to house the new Chilton County Innovation Center, a career and technical education facility on an approximate 10-acre site in Chilton County, Alabama. The project includes the construction of a new approximately 120,000-square-foot educational facility designed to serve students from throughout Chilton County. The facility includes career and technical education instructional spaces, academic classrooms, healthcare training areas, manufacturing and industrial training spaces, construction technology shops, automotive maintenance and body shops, STEM facilities, administrative offices, student support areas, assembly and collaboration spaces, and associated building support functions. The facility will also include a storm shelter in accordance with ICC 500 a new home for the Chilton County Board of Education. A mass grading package is in progress, however additional site work will include completion of finish grading, utilities, storm drainage systems, paving, parking areas, sidewalks, landscaping, and all related infrastructure improvements. The project also includes mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, communications, security, and technology systems necessary for a complete and operational educational facility. The Work shall include all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, permits, testing, and incidentals required for the complete construction of the project in accordance with the Contract Documents. A certified check or bid bond payable to the Chilton County Board of Education in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000 must accompany the bidder’s proposal. Performance and Statutory Labor and Material Payment Bonds will be required at the signing of the Contract The Owner reserves the right to reject bids if such action is determined to be in the best interest of the Owner. The Owner reserves the right to revoke pre-qualification of any bidder in accordance with Section 39-2-12, Code of Alabama, 1975, as amended in 1997 (by Act 97-225). *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. The estimated construction budget for this project is $38,000,000 - 40,000,000.
