The intent of this RFQ is to contract for a French Drain for the Peace Valley nature Center in Doylestown. This is an RFQ for Drainage and Waterproofing and is the second RFQ for this project. There is a Mandatory Meeting involved with this project.. Questions Due Date: Any questions and / or clarifications shall be directed to PennBid up to four business days before the due date. Addendums will be issued as needed to address questions / clarifications received; the final addendum will be issued by 5:00 pm two business days prior to the due date. Question Deadline 05/01/2026 at 12:00 PM ET SCOPE OF WORK The Vendor awarded this contract agrees to furnish all labor, materials and equipment necessary for the successful completion of the project. Installation of Waterproofing and Drainage The project area is located on the west side of the nature center, between the entrance gate and the entrance to the building. Refer to the drawing attached at the end of this document. Vendor should notify PA One Call for location of utilities prior to digging. Owner to identify private utilities. Contractor should visually inspect Crawl Space for any pipe penetration(s) prior to commencing excavation on the outside of the foundation wall. Verify existing grades: o Inspect for potential conveyance to drain outflow opportunities on the northwest side of the path. o Inspect the rain barrel to determine if the overflow from the barrel can be redirected away from the building. Remove plants within the excavation footprint. Temporarily heal plants into wood chips for the duration of the project. Excavate along the building foundation at the project area: the excavation will be 3’ deep and +/-2’ wide, approximately 90 linear feet. Stockpile soil for re-use. Power wash the exposed building foundation to prepare the surface for waterproofing.penings, gaps, cracks, pipe penetrations, and deteriorated mortar joints along the length of the exposed building foundation Apply Bituminous Foundation Coating to the entire surface of the exposed building Mix & Apply Hydraulic Cement to any o Foundation Install a Platon Waterproof Membrane along the building foundation Install filter fabric at the bottom of the excavation Install drainage conveyance along the building foundation: 4” diameter SDR 35 perforated pipe. Includes (3) three t’s and clean-out / inspection ports. Backfill the excavation with clean drainage stone: 3’ deep and 1’ offset from the building. Backfill the remaining area at the edge of the raingarden with stockpiled soil. store the grade. Install plants that were removed for excavation. The site will be left clean and presentable. The County requests a 5 Year warranty on this project
