Site work for a civil project in Vernon, British Columbia. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and water / sewer project.
The removal of the existing pedestrian bridge and effluent pipe crossing located between 25th Avenue and the Vernon Water Reclamation Centre facility and installation of a new pedestrian bridge. The existing gravel multi-use pathway will be realigned to suit the new crossing location. Naturalisation of the site will be achieved with new plantings at the site location. The Work can be briefly summarized as follows: Removal of the existing pedestrian bridge structure and effluent pipe crossing. Clearing of grubbing of work area. Tree removals. Temporary installation of erosion and sediment control measures. Diversion of effluent pipe. Installation of new bridge abutments with helical pile foundations. Installation of a new prefabricated pedestrian bridge with effluent pipe suspended alongside the structure. Realignment of existing gravel multi-use pathway. Planting of trees at the site location. Installation of electrical conduit for streetlight relocation. Installation of new multi-use pathway signage. Removal of existing fence and reinstatement at new location. 2-year environmental monitoring will be required post-construction to ensure survivorship of plantings.
