Site work for a civil project in Moses Lake, Washington. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; and bridge / tunnel.
This project consists of replacing approximately 232 lineal feet of 12" steel water main with 96 lineal feet of 12" ductile iron (DI) water main and 136 lineal feet of Thermacor Ferro-Therm 12" pre-insulated DI water main. The contractor will connect the new water main at existing connection locations on each side of the Alder Street Bridge. The portion of the water main under the bridge will be installed in existing brackets and holes in concrete supports. Removal of the existing pipe requires additional care due to the presence of asbestos in the pipe coating associated with the insulation under the bridge. The contractor must prepare pavement on either side of the bridge with saw cutting of asphalt, curb and gutter, in addition to removal and restoration of sidewalk panels, curb and gutter, guardrails, and final restoration of 34 square yards of HMA patching associated with the trenching area. Fencing below the bridge will need to be removed for pipe installation and restored after all work below the bridge is complete.
