Hillsborough County is working toward helping fund a $125 million expansion of ZooTampa, a major nonprofit cultural and educational attraction in Tampa, Florida. The multi-phase expansion includes development of new themed habitats, highlighted by a South American-themed realm, as part of a broader transformation of the zoo's campus. While ZooTampa has relied on earned revenue and private philanthropy, county participation is expected to play a key role in completing the large-scale project. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
