Sealed bids are invited for the Kingsport Aquatic Center Swimming Pool and Other Renovations project. Electronic copies of the documents may be obtained from Thompson & Litton, Inc., for a $10.00 fee per thumb drive (payable by check). Documents are also available for review at specified locations. A non-mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held at the project site. All questions regarding the project must be submitted in writing via email to the Architect. Addendum items will be issued as necessary. All Minority and Women-Owned contractors are encouraged to participate. A bid bond or certified check equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid is required. The successful bidder must provide Performance and Payment Bonds equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. All bidders must be licensed Contractors per the Contractors Licensing Act of 1994 (TCA Title 62, Chapter 6). The outside of the sealed bid envelope must list: the Contractor's license number, license expiration date, and the applicable classification; for applicable subcontractors (Geothermal, HVAC, Masonry, Plumbing, Roofing, and Electrical), their license numbers, expiration dates, and classifications if work is $25,000 or more ($100,000 for Masonry). If a subcontractor's work is below these thresholds, note "Subcontractor's bid is less than $25,000" ($100,000 for Masonry) next to the relevant heading. If no subcontractors are used, state "No Subcontractors are being used on this project." By submitting a bid, bidders certify compliance with Title VI and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. No bids may be withdrawn for sixty (60) days after the scheduled closing time. Bids should be signed, sealed, and marked appropriately. The City reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to re-advertise.
