Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in San Geronimo, California. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a clubhouse / community center; warehouse / distribution facility; and for site work for a fire / police facility.
The County of Marin is developing a new fire station and support facilities in the San Geronimo Valley at 5800 Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. The project will serve as the operational headquarters for the Marin County Fire Department (MCFD), supporting the deployment and storage of fire apparatus, rescue equipment, and training functions for MCFD and regional partners. The new headquarters is needed due to significant recent growth in staffing and service demands, which existing facilities can no longer accommodate. The project envisions an integrated public safety, park, and community facility that includes emergency response, operations, training, logistics, and community space. The design will feature a rapid response fire station, specialized storage and maintenance areas, operational and administrative workspaces, living quarters for extended shifts, and comprehensive supporting infrastructure. Additional campus components will include a fleet maintenance facility, warehouse and reserve apparatus building, and dedicated indoor and outdoor training environments. The program also anticipates supporting broader community needs, such as safe public access, trailhead parking, flexible gathering areas, and space for services like a rural health clinic and food pantry. Proposals must be submitted via BidExpress by 2:00pm local time on Tuesday, April 28, 2026. Respondents are responsible for ensuring proposal completeness and submission verification. Proposals not received by the deadline will not be considered. Attendance at a mandatory pre-proposal conference is required for all respondents. Short-listed respondents will be invited to submit a full proposal and participate in interviews, with hard copies and electronic format required for final proposals. All dates, submission instructions, and requirements are subject to change at the discretion of the County. Respondents shall submit questions regarding any ambiguity, uncertainty, or other perceived flaw in this RFQ via BidExpress, no later than 2:00 pm local time on Tuesday, April 14, 2026. The RFQ states that the project is anticipated to achieve final completion, including close-out, by December 2028
