As of April 17, 2026, this project has not yet been awarded. The project is expected to be awarded on May 13th, 2026. The project consists of the replacement and installation of 997 feet of sidewalk along Union Street (old US Route 34) in Earlville, including 463 feet between S. Ottawa Street and Stilson Street (north side), 244 feet between Stilson Street and Chestnut Street (north side), and 290 feet between S. Ottawa Street and S. West Street (south side). All sidewalks must be at least 5 feet wide and have a running slope not exceeding 5% or a cross slope not exceeding 2%. Sidewalks must be at least 6 inches thick with compacted subgrade work. Portland concrete must be sourced from an IDOT approved plant. Traffic control and disposal of removed materials are required. Restoration includes CA-b on the street side and black dirt with grass seed on the resident side. Bids must be sealed, clearly marked 'Union Street Sidewalk Project', and received at City Hall by the deadline. Bids responsive to specifications will be considered. The city reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and bidders must comply with all applicable State of Illinois and federal laws regarding public works projects.
