This project involves a 35-mgd expansion of the existing Quail Creek Water Treatment Plant for a total net capacity of 90 mgd with a new 90-mgd ozone facility. Work includes modifications to the existing Flow Control Building for increased plant flows, the addition of a new Ozone Facility with three ozone contactors, an ozone generation and feed system, a hydrogen peroxide storage and feed system, onsite liquid oxygen (LOX) storage, and associated yard piping. The project also includes a new Dissolved Air Flotation over Filters (DAFF) Facility with a new pumped flash mix system, seven DAFF basins, DAF equipment, and yard piping, including a structural enclosure over the DAFF basins in the base bid and an optional enclosure over the new flocculation area as Bid Alternate F. Additionally, a new ultraviolet (UV) disinfection system with three medium pressure UV reactors, new valves, piping, and analyzers in the existing UV building (Bid Alternate D) is included. Modifications to the Bulk Chemical and Chemical Feed buildings cover upgrades to the sodium hypochlorite generation system (Base Bid Item A), cationic polymer storage and feed improvements (Base Bid Item B), demolition of the powdered activated carbon (PAC) supersack feed system and potassium permanganate storage and feed system (Base Bid Item C), expansion of the Bulk Chemical Building for a new sodium hypochlorite generation system (Bid Alternate E), and a new anionic polymer storage and feed system in the Chemical Feed Building (Bid Alternate G). The project also covers remodeling areas in the existing Filter/Operations Building and civil site and yard piping improvements.
