The City of Burnaby (“City”) invites Submissions from qualified and experienced general contractors to be registered on the City’s pre-qualification list of general contractors for park development projects up to $5 million per contract, as further detailed herein. The scope of work of any future projects may include, but is not limited to the following: General Contractors: Construction Management: Construction schedule development, management, and reporting; Traffic Management Plan and coordination of Traffic Management Strategy if required; Master site safety plan including advising the City if a public notification is required prior to demolition; Coordination and permitting of project work; Supervision of construction in areas with environmental and/or archaeological sensitivities; Full Subcontractor responsibility for means and methods of construction; Assure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (“OHS”) regulation; Compliance with City laws and regulations; Testing and inspection of all services; Closing of all deficiencies and project closeout; Construction Execution: Protection of site assets; Erosion and sediment control; Demolition and removals of existing park assets and infrastructure; Grading, drainage, and stormwater management; Construction of park facilities such as playgrounds, spray pads, sports courts, sports fields, and related amenities and features; Landscaping and irrigation; Hardscape paving; Installation of site furnishings, fencing, and small park structures and engineered footings; Trail construction, boardwalks, stairs, and retaining walls; Management of Subcontractors for specialized works; and Other construction services as required.
