The County of Nevada is requesting statements of qualifications from qualified and licensed firms to provide painting or drywall services for public works projects. Work will be performed on an as-needed basis throughout Nevada County, including the Truckee area, for projects estimated to range from $4,000 to $75,000 each, with an aggregate annual not-to-exceed amount of $400,000. The County seeks firms with valid California C-33 Painting and Decorating Contractor and/or C-9 Drywall licenses, strong staff resources, and trade experience. Contractors must be approved by the California State License Board and have current active status with the Department of Industrial Regulations. A maximum of eight firms will be qualified for a list valid for two years, with options to renew. Proposals must show experience or include licensed subcontractors for listed trades, and a DIR number is required for the general contractor and each subcontractor. SCOPE OF WORK and REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL TRADES 7.1 Painting and Decorating C-33: Firms who wish to be considered for this service category must have a C-33 License (minimum), and have knowledge and experience with: o Interior & Exterior Paint Prep o Interior & Exterior Prime & Paint o Power Washing o Caulking o Paint Color Matching o Paint & Stencil parking lot striping and curbs o Sanding & Sealing o Surface preparation including patching, scraping, sanding, filling cracks o Application by brush, roller, and spray equipment o Protection of adjacent surfaces, furnishings, and landscaping o Cleanup and proper disposal of debris and hazardous materials o Asbestos awareness o Knowledge of low-VOC and environmentally compliant paints o Compliance with current building codes, ADA requirements, and prevailing wage standards 7.2 Drywall C-9 When necessary for project completion (e.g., prior to painting or as part of surface preparation), the Painting Contractor (C-33) may partner with and subcontractor to a properly licensed C-9 Drywall Contractor for: o Hanging/installing gypsum wallboard. o Taping o Texturing o Applying compounds for smooth/textured surfaces o Patching o Related work to preparation and completion of drywall *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
