East Jackson Community Schools is soliciting bids for the removal of all asbestos-containing materials as described in the agreement. Bids shall cover all services, labor, materials, equipment, permits, fees, and insurance necessary to complete the project on time. The removal is to be completed at East Jackson Secondary School. The School reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to reject the bid of a bidder who is not, in the opinion of the School, in a position to perform the contract, to waive informalities, irregularities, and technicalities, to reject any and all nonconforming, nonresponsive, unbalanced, or conditional bids, or to advertise for new bids. The School also reserves the right to award the contract in the School's best interest, which may include selecting a bidder other than the lowest or modifying the scope of work for reasons of schedule or economic advantage. Bidders are required to investigate and satisfy themselves as to conditions affecting the work, including site conditions, access, storage, and materials to be encountered. Any failure to acquaint themselves with the information, materials, and conditions will not relieve bidders from responsibility for estimating the difficulty or cost of the work. Attendance at the pre-bid meeting is encouraged but not mandatory. Bidders are advised to confirm types and percentages of asbestos and material composition for proper abatement procedures. Explanations or clarifications regarding plans, specifications, or discrepancies must be requested in writing within the specified timeframes. Written addenda will be binding, while oral explanations or instructions will not be. Withdrawal or modification of bids is only effective if written notice is filed prior to the bid opening time.
