The extent of the work involves furnishing materials generally described as follows: a. Underground cables, 600 v and 15 kV class b. Pad mounted switchgear, three phase, 15 kV class c. Pad mounted metering cabinet, three phase, 25 kV class d. Junction cabinets, handholes, and box pads e. Underground cable accessories Proposals must be submitted on the form furnished by the Owner and obtained from P&E Engineering Co. Each proposal must be accompanied in a separate sealed envelope by a bid bond, certified check, or cashier’s check for five percent (5%) of the total proposal value, made payable to the Owner as security for entering into a contract within ten (10) days after award. If the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract, the submitted security will be retained as liquidated damages. Bid prices must be exclusive of Iowa Sales and Use tax; applicable state and local taxes will be added at prescribed rates. Bidders cannot withdraw their bids for fifteen (15) days after opening. Bidders must complete and submit a Bidder Status Form from the Iowa Department of Labor regarding contractor's resident status with the bid; failure to do so may result in rejection. Sellers are to submit applications for payment directly to Buyer following satisfactory delivery and acceptance of materials, with payment made within 30 days. Payment will be made with available cash and is not a general obligation of the City, nor payable by taxation. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive informalities.
