Demolition of existing structures and site restoration at Scullin School, 4160 N Kingshighway Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63115. The scope includes the removal of asbestos containing materials (ACMs) and USEPA RCRA regulated hazardous materials from the Gym Addition prior to demolition under the base bid contract, specifically: flooring and mastic (8,500 SF), window systems, door caulk, 80 lighting fixtures, 30 hydraulic door closures, 6 CFCs water fountains, and all CFCs/Freon HVAC systems in the Gym Addition. The original Scullin school building is considered structurally unsound; therefore, traditional abatement and removal of RCRA items prior to demolition is not allowed. All debris from this building must be handled and treated as friable ACM waste. All work must comply with relevant USEPA, State of Missouri, and City of St. Louis asbestos regulations. All onsite workers in the regulated work zone must be MDNR licensed for asbestos removal activities. A HazMat consultant will be onsite daily to enforce compliance and conduct third party air monitoring as appropriate. The Gym Addition, being structurally sound, requires traditional asbestos abatement and removal of RCRA regulated items prior to demolition.
