Demolition and site work for a residential development in Sumter, South Carolina. Completed plans call for the demolition of a residential development.
Demolish and properly dispose of the structure including the foundation, any accessory buildings, porches, fences, steps, chimneys, pier supports, concrete slabs, driveways, and all trash and debris at the specified address. Remove any contents within or associated with the residence, including items on porches, steps, foundations, and anything in the vicinity. After removal, clean up the lot area and perimeter boundaries that were occupied or part of the residence, as well as up to the street, removing debris, trash, rubbish, and waste materials. If foundation removal leaves the lot significantly cratered, fill the depressed areas with suitable soil for groundcover and ensure it is graded for proper drainage and maintenance. Bush hog/mow the surrounding grass, undergrowth, weeds, vines, and scrub trees within and up to the lot lines. Protect large pine trees (10 inches or more in diameter) and crepe myrtle trees in the front or back yards as much as possible. All work must be completed in a timely manner after bid closing and within ten days of receiving the demolition permit. Recycle any material that can be recycled. Sumter County will obtain demolition permits. Landfill tipping fees will be waived for residential, construction, and demolition debris for this property. Landfill weight tickets or recycling tickets must be submitted with the completion invoice after work approval. The County may accompany the contractor to the landfill to verify debris origin. The contractor is encouraged to recycle metal, concrete, and brick materials at approved facilities. Contractors are responsible for contacting utility organizations, ensuring all utilities are disconnected and marked before work begins, and verifying no energized electrical power, gas, or flowing water or sewer remains before demolition.
