The project consists of refurbishing the existing air handling unit (AHU) at Building 1171. The existing unit is a Trane AHU, serial number U3A26715. The contractor shall remove and replace all fan bearings and the fan shaft with an original manufacturer size shaft and install new supports to mitigate shaft vibration. All work shall be performed to ensure there is no vibration during operation. A static air pressure test shall be conducted to verify that the manufacturer's specified cubic feet per minute are being produced at the supply air trunk. The contractor shall start up the system to ensure proper operation of the existing AHU with the Variable Frequency Drive and shall test the airflow to verify that airflows match the original design. The contractor shall ensure the coil water loop remains free of air bubbles when filling the coil with water. The contractor shall test and balance the airflow to match the original design airflow to all conditioned areas. A detailed work schedule shall be provided in the form of a Gantt chart, with dates submitted to the Government for review and approval.
