Renovation of a mixed-use development in Bedford, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a medical facility.

The work consists of upgrading twenty-five ceiling lift systems that have exceeded their service life by replacing existing equipment with Guldmann GH3+ ceiling lift systems. The contractor shall provide all labor, personnel, equipment, tools, materials, software, supervision, and services required to remove and replace motors, rails, and all supporting infrastructure securing the rails. The upgraded lift systems shall include an internal motor-mounted scale for enhanced maneuverability, a hand control with a display screen capable of showing patient weight and system information, and lift speeds of 2.2 inches per second or greater. One designated room requires installation of a trainer module to support gait training for rehabilitation. The contractor shall perform full project management, including development of detailed structural designs and drawings for each room in compliance with VA seismic and structural requirements, on-site coordination, installation, waste disposal, documentation delivery, and comprehensive onsite training for clinical and technical staff. All installation and training activities shall be coordinated with VA Healthcare Technology Management, comply with infection control, safety, security, and VA regulatory requirements, and be completed in a single scheduled visit as determined with the medical center. The Contractor must provide all labor, personnel , equipment, tools, materials, software, supervision and other items and services necessary to perform the following: Upgrade of 25 Ceiling Lift systems at Bedford VAMC, including motor, rails, and all infrastructure securing the rails to Guldmann GH3+ systems Lifts shall have a scale that is internal to the motor to allow for maximum maneuverability and convenience when moving system over patient furniture Lifts shall come with a hand control that has a screen that can display the weight measured on the scale in addition to information about the lift, such as settings and maintenance requirements One of the rooms (227F-78) requires the trainer module feature to allow for gait training in rehabilitation Lifts must be able to lift at a speed of 2.2 inches per second or better
