Construction of a new pumping plant facility to replace the existing RD-1000 Pumping Plant 5 (PP5) as part of the American River Common Features, Natomas Basin Project. The existing PP5, located in Reach B, will be demolished, and a new facility will be constructed approximately 300 feet upstream along the West Drainage Canal to accommodate levee improvements, including a seepage berm, adjacent levee work, and raising discharge pipes above the 200-year water surface elevation. The new pumping plant will discharge drainage from the canal to the Sacramento River following significant rainfall events. Construction activities must comply with environmental and seasonal constraints, including flood season restrictions from October 1 through April 14, and designated work windows from May 1 through September 30 for both Giant Garter Snake protection and in-water work at the inlet canal. The project will be delivered as a firm-fixed-price construction contract with an estimated performance period of 880 calendar days and an anticipated construction magnitude between $25 million and $35 million.
