Construction of a new pumping plant facility to replace the existing Pumping Plant 5 (PP5), which will be demolished and relocated approximately 300 feet upstream along the West Drainage Canal to accommodate Reach B levee improvements. The work is anticipated to include demolition of the existing pumping plant, construction of a new pumping plant structure, associated civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical components, and integration with the American River Common Features, Natomas Basin Project. Construction will be subject to environmental and operational constraints, including flood season restrictions from October 1 through April 14, Giant Garter Snake work windows from May 1 through September 30, and in-water work limitations for the PP5 inlet canal during the same period. The project is expected to require coordination of phased construction activities, compliance with environmental protection requirements, and management of equipment lead times and construction sequencing to achieve completion within an estimated 880 calendar days.
