The project consists of mobilization and demobilization, furnishing and installing approximately 6,300 linear feet of 8-inch ductile iron pipe and fittings for water main, 288 linear feet of 6-inch ductile iron pipe and fittings for water main, thirty-four resilient-seated gate valves, eighteen fire hydrant assemblies with guard posts, and one hundred two 1-inch water services. It also includes making three tapping connections to existing water mains (including furnishing and installing tapping sleeve(s) and tapping valve(s)), one cut-in connection to existing water mains, polyethylene encasement for ductile iron pipe and fittings if ordered, sheeting and shoring left in place if ordered, additional suitable backfill if needed, and providing all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals required for cleaning, testing, and disinfecting the water mains. Other work includes removal and salvage of one fire hydrant assembly, cutting, dewatering, grouting, plugging, and capping existing mains to be placed out of service, removal, salvage, cleaning, transport, unloading and storage of valve boxes and covers, manhole frames and covers, and castings on existing mains to be placed out of service, furnishing and constructing reinforced concrete protective slab, removal of existing asphalt pavement, sidewalk, and sod, removal, transport, salvage, and legal disposal of demolition material, traffic control, and temporary and permanent replacement of any damaged pavement, driveways, sidewalk, concrete median, curb and gutter, sod, landscaping, and pavement markings, and all other appurtenant and miscellaneous items and work necessary for a complete, fully functional, and satisfactory installation. The bidder and all subcontractors must hold a valid, current, and active State and/or Miami-Dade County contractors license consistent with the requirements of the scope of work. The bidder must have a minimum of three years of experience under its current business name (including experience of key supervisory employees) in similar projects involving public right-of-way construction/installation/repair/replacement of water main distribution systems and/or sanitary sewer main collection systems, and maintenance of vehicular traffic, supported by references for three projects completed within the past ten years. The referenced projects must demonstrate that the bidder served as the prime contractor. The RFI deadline for this project is Tuesday, 5/5/2026 at 5:00 pm.
