Services to be provided by Engineer: professional engineering services associated with the proposed acquisition, design, and/or construction of improvements to the Town's water system, including planning, acquiring, designing, and constructing improvements, renovations, rehabilitation, or replacement of the Town's waterworks and sewer system. The scope of work includes the following improvements and rehabilitation activities: WATER: Perform comprehensive well maintenance, including cleaning, brushing, and chemical treatment. Inspect the well screen for integrity and replace if necessary. Convert the existing above ground motor and pump to a submersible unit. Replace and rewire all electrical components to meet current code requirements. Install Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) and soft start units. Upgrade radio communication and SCADA components as needed. Upgrade existing well water meters and integrate them into the SCADA system for automated readings. Replace all piping and valves associated with the well. Upgrade all gas chlorination systems to meet TCEQ standards. Install accessible sampling ports. Replace booster pumps as needed and integrate all booster systems into SCADA and automated controls. Inspect and rehabilitate all associated storage facilities. Identify and secure suitable land for the development of a new well, including completion of a hydrological study to verify groundwater availability and site feasibility. WASTEWATER: Identify options to increase overall system capacity, either through upgrades to existing infrastructure or by adding new treatment units to the facility to ensure seamless expansion of operational capability. Identify a more efficient method for dewatering the solid byproducts generated by the treatment process. Refurbish the existing sewer lift station, including all pumps and the wet well. Inspect all electrical systems associated with the lift station to ensure proper function and compliance with applicable codes. Refurbish and bring the power generator and electrical transfer system at the treatment plant up to current code and operational standards. Assistance in application preparation and documentation to federal, state, and other possible funding sources.
