Renovation of an educational facility in Middlebury, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
A bid bond for five percent (5%) of the base bid cost is required and must accompany each bid. Bids must be held firm for ninety (90) days beyond the bid opening date. The successful bidder must file a one hundred percent (100%) Performance Bond, a one hundred percent (100%) Labor & Materials Bond, and a Certificate of Insurance with the Finance & Operations Director within ten (10) days of notice of bid award. Bidders must meet requirements regarding payment of minimum wages and compliance with certain local, state, and federal regulations. Plans and specifications can be obtained from the provided website, and bidders are responsible for checking for any addenda. Each responsible bid must include a Contractor Prequalification Certificate and the Update (Bid) Statement with a classification of ROOFING as a minimum. The contract is subject to state set-aside and contract compliance requirements. The right is reserved to reject any and all bids, to waive defects, or to accept any proposal deemed to be in the best interest. The Work includes, but is not limited to, the following: Removal of existing membrane and built-up roofing system, insulation, cant strips and tapered edges, and metal flashings. Removal and replacement of existing asphalt shingles at pitched roofs. Removal and replacement of existing roof accessories. Removal and replacement of deteriorated roof decking and wood blocking. Removal and replacement of existing roof drains and related piping and insulation. Provision and installation of EPDM membranes, underlayment, and flat and tapered insulations. Provision and installation of new flashings, caps, fasciae, and other trim metal work as detailed and specified, including new gutters, collection boxes, downspouts, and scuppers. Offsite disposal of all removed materials.
