Renovation of a library in Lyons, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade library.

The work consists of roofing replacement and rooftop equipment replacement at the existing one-story building located at 4209 Joliet Avenue, Lyons, Illinois, commonly known as the Lyons Public Library. Plans and proposal forms are available via the Architect, Lukasik + Associates Ltd. Only bid proposals obtained from and approved by Lukasik + Associates Ltd. and/or Novotny Engineering will be accepted. All proposals must be accompanied by a cashier's check, bank draft, certified check, or bid bond for not less than five percent of the bid amount. The contractor will be required to furnish a performance bond for the full contract amount. A pre-bid meeting at the project site is required for prospective prime bidders. All bidders and subcontractors must comply with all prevailing wage and equal opportunity laws. No bid may be withdrawn within forty-five days after the bid opening without the owner's consent. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, with the owner reserving the right to determine responsibility, reject any or all bids, re-advertise, or waive technicalities. Removal and replacement of existing roof membrane and insulation system, including tapered insulation, cover boards, and all associated flashing, edge metal, and accessories. 2. Repair and replacement of deteriorated portions of the existing poured gypsum roof deck as required. 3. Removal and replacement of existing rooftop units (RTUs), including curbs, ductwork modifications, and reconnection to existing gas and electrical services. 4. Removal and replacement of existing exhaust fans, including new curbs and associated roof penetrations. 5. Removal and reinstallation of existing metal coping, or replacement where indicated, including wood nailers and associated accessories. 6. Replacement of roof drains, flashings, and all roof penetrations as required for a complete and watertight roofing system. 7. All related work necessary to provide a complete and functional roofing and mechanical system as indicated in the Contract Documents.
