This is a Request for Proposal (RFP) for services to perform a single course 2-inch cold milling and resurfacing on I-94 from 13 Mile Road to Fenton Street, Roseville in Macomb County. The project includes milling HMA surface, joint and crack repairs, 2-inch HMA resurface, permanent pavement markings, and other defined work. Cold Milling HMA Resurface A. Cold Milling HMA Surface must include all costs for removing, loading, hauling, and disposing of the cold-milled material, and cleaning the cold-milled pavement. B. HMA surface must be cold milled to a depth of one and half inches (2 inch). C. Milled areas must be filled during the same day of cold milling. Pay item will be based on actual measured square yards of mill areas. D. The Contractor must match the existing pavement grades and cross slopes. HMA Mix SMA A. The HMA mix design will be SMA with a PG-70-28P binder unless otherwise directed by the Program Manager. The Contractor must place 1.5-inch HMA Mix, 5EMH PG 64-28 after longitudinal and transverse joints are repaired using Detail 7 method. HMA and Patching, 5EMH Detail 7 A. The Contractor must repair joints, cracks, and potholes in accordance with the MDOT Detail 7 Joint Repair. B. The marked repair areas must be milled to a minimum width of two feet (2') and a uniform depth of two to three inches (2"-3") or as directed by the Engineer. C. The pay items will include HMA Mix 5EMH, PG 64-28 as Hand Patching used to fill the joint, crack and potholes in Ton and Linear Foot of joint and crack up to 30 inches in width for removal and cleanout. Deductions will be made from load tickets for waste and potentially for rejected material. D. If the pavement joint, crack or pothole repair exceeds 30 inches in width, each 30- inch-wide segment, or portion thereof, will be paid separately for Detail 7 in LF and additional hand patching in Ton. E. All miscellaneous items to complete the work, including but not limited to tac coat, must be included in the pay items and will not be paid separately.
