Sealed bids or electronic bids are being received for the Tupelo Public School District Middle School Restroom Renovations project in Tupelo, Mississippi. Qualified Prime (General) Contractors, Subcontractors, and Material Suppliers must register and order bid documents, which are available as paper prints or digital copies. Partial sets of documents will not be issued. Proposals must be submitted in duplicate using the blank proposal forms provided, and must be accompanied by Proposal Security in the form of a Certified Check or acceptable Bid Bond equal to at least five percent (5%) of the Base Bid. Such security will be forfeited as liquidated damages, not as a penalty, if the bidder fails to carry out the terms of the proposal, execute the contract, and post the Performance Bond in the specified form and amount within the specified time. The Bid Bond, if used, must be payable to the Owner. All bids must be received on or before the scheduled period for the project, and no bid may be withdrawn after the closing time for a period of sixty days. All bids in excess of $50,000.00 by a Prime or Subcontractor for any erection, building, construction, repair, maintenance, or related work must comply with the Mississippi Contractors Act of 1985 by securing a Certificate of Responsibility from the State Board of Contractors. Each bid exceeding $5,000.00 must be accompanied by the bidder's certified check or a bid bond, executed by the bidder as principal with surety approved by the Owner and signed by an agent licensed to transact business in Mississippi, in the amount of five percent of the bid. All bid bonds must be accompanied by the appropriate Power of Attorney. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities.
