This project aims to address safety and capacity issues at the Ballpark Way/Holly Lane and Calder Drive intersection by proposing geometric and traffic control changes. Staff evaluated two options based on feedback received from the Transportation Infrastructure Committee. 1) Realigning Ballpark Way with Holly Lane to eliminate the existing offset, and 2) Constructing a roundabout that accommodates the current offset. Given the project's scope, which includes drainage and detention rework for the ballpark, a Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) is recommended. The report's recommendations will inform the design process, with construction following. To ensure sufficient funding allocation, the higher cost estimate (Option 2) was used for estimated Design and Construction costs reflected above. It is Staff's intention apply for applicable grants to help fund the project. Based on city growth, the needed improvements may need to move forward without Grant funding. The project being reflected in the CIP will help with grant applications and scoring. The project is included in the City's 2026-2030 Capital Improvement Program (CIP).
