New construction of a transportation facility in Littleton, Colorado. Completed plans call for the construction of a 9,504-square-foot transportation facility.
The County is seeking a qualified contractor to construct a new helicopter hangar near 8500 N Moore Rd. This project will include a 9,504 sq. ft hangar and related site work for the first responders of Douglas County. The condition of the site that the awarded contractor will find when beginning work will be as listed below: 1. The grading for the site will be completed to a rough margin of +/- 4" from the final grades as illustrated on the Civil drawings. 2. All GESC facilities will be left in place by others responsible for the rough grading. 3. The K9 training facility will be demolished and reinstalled off-site by the owner. The scope of site work to be carried out by the awarded contractor of this IFB will be as follows: 1. Final grading will be required, see unit pricing specification for a unit price per cubic yard of dirt moved. 2. Construction of the new temporary access road from Moore Rd. and related work will be required per Civil drawings. 3. Maintenance and continued use of the GESC facilities left in place will be required. 4. All hardscape and other site work as outlined below will be required. The hangar building scope consists of, but is not limited to: a pre-engineered metal building with bagged insulation and metal roof/wall panels, a small parking lot, and a large concrete helipad with an asphalt skirt. The interior of the new hangar includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. A large, heated hangar space with a perimeter concrete stem wall and a 70' x 20' clear bifold hangar door 2. A finished and conditioned office space with full-height, fire-rated separation walls and non-rated interior partition walls 3. A storage mezzanine with fire-rated structure 4. A shop/storage area below the mezzanine with fire-rated separation walls 5. A small kitchenette with custom casework 6. Two new ADA bathrooms, one with a shower The contractor shall account for, protect, and preserve the working environment for the adjacent land during the scope of the work. All questions related to this IFB must be submitted ELECTRONICALLY ONLY to Tim Hallmark thallmar@douglas.co.us Questions will be received until April 28, 2026 at 5PM. Responses to all questions will be sent to all potential contractors no-later-than May 4, 2026 at 5PM. If it becomes necessary to revise any part of this IFB or if additional data is necessary to enable an exact interpretation of the provisions of this request, an addendum will be issued. It is the responsibility of the respondent to ensure that they have received all addendums prior to submitting their IFB response.
