Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Mediapolis, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.
The project consists of removing and disposing of the existing 5-12 age playground equipment, including footings, foundations, rubber tile safety surfacing, and existing concrete sub-base and aggregate. The school district has purchased new playground equipment. The work includes site preparation, installation of a concrete slab and concrete curbing, installation of the provided playground equipment, poured-in-place surfacing drainage, backfill, grading, and seeding. Bids must be submitted on forms provided by the Architect/Engineer, sealed in an envelope, and accompanied by a bid bond or bid security of five percent. The bid shall contain no condition except as provided in the specifications. Bid security must be made payable to the Mediapolis Community School District. The successful Bidder must provide a Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond, each equal to one hundred percent of the contract amount, within ten days of the "Notice of Intent to Award." If the successful bidder fails to provide required bonds or enter into a contract, their bid security may be retained as liquidated damages. Bids may not be withdrawn for thirty days after opening. Bidders are responsible for the timely and correct submission of bids; email and facsimile bids will not be accepted. The Board of Education reserves the right to award the contract to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder meeting the specifications, to reject any or all bids or any part thereof, and to waive informalities as allowed by law. All bids will be governed by Iowa Code and District policy. Preference will be given to products and provisions grown and/or produced within Iowa, and resident bidders may receive preference as provided by law. All bidders must provide a resident status statement as designated by the Iowa Department of Labor Commissioner.
