Sealed proposals will be received for the furnishing of labor, material, and equipment entering into the construction of the Tabor CI: Fire Alarm Replacement at 4600 Swamp Fox Highway West, Tabor City, NC 28463. Bids will be received for a single prime contract and all proposals shall be lump sum. Qualified prime bidders may obtain complete plans, specifications, and contract documents upon deposit of one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00) in cash or certified check, refundable if all documents are returned in good, usable condition within ten days after the bid date. Each proposal must include the form Identification of Minority Business Participation and either Affidavit A or B as applicable. All bids must be accompanied by a cash deposit or certified check of not less than five percent (5%) of the proposal amount, or alternatively a bid bond of five percent (5%) executed by a surety company licensed in North Carolina. A performance bond and payment bond, each for one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, are required. No bid may be withdrawn for 60 days after the scheduled closing time. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities. General contractors submitting bids must have license classification for Intermediate or Unlimited, in accordance with applicable North Carolina General Statutes. The successful bidder must execute the contract within ten days after the award and provide satisfactory surety as required by law.
