The work consists of implementing systemic improvements at the city's seventy-two signalized intersections and safety improvements at three unsignalized intersections and a roadway segment with a history of fatal and severe crashes. Tasks include, but are not limited to, signal modifications at the 72 intersections by installing signal head reflective backplates and Leading Pedestrian Interval (LPI); installation of signage, daylighting, beacons, and related measures at the three unsignalized intersections; and safety improvements of a horizontal curve along McCarty Blvd. The project requires NEPA clearance and engineering design services, with compliance to all Federal and Caltrans Local Assistance Procedures Manual (LAPM) requirements.
