The scope of work consists of lead or galvanized water service line replacements within the Village of Niles. The lead service line replacement work is planned to be completed at approximately 500 locations within the Village of Niles with additional location information given at contract start. Service line replacements are planned for the following areas: Area 1: Oakton St to Howard St and Milwaukee Ave to Waukegan Rd, excluding Milwaukee Ave and Waukegan Rd; Area 2: Washington St to Milwaukee Ave and Main St to Oakton St, excluding Milwaukee Ave. Locations are prospective and subject to change at the discretion of the Village. The term 'lead service line' will refer to both lead service lines and galvanized requiring replacement (GRR) service lines. Must comply with Amended Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, Employment of Illinois Workers on Public Works Act, Illinois Works Jobs Program Act Apprenticeship Initiative, and an overall Business Enterprise Program (BEP) goal of 17% utilizing state certified vendors for direct subcontracting opportunities of the utilization plan.
