Description

Renovation of a mixed-use development in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a 10,000-seat stadium; and 6,000-seat recreation facility.

The City of Bridgeport Office of Planning and Economic Development, in partnership with the State of Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development, seeks proposals for the reuse, redevelopment, and operation of the Total Mortgage Arena, a municipally owned, 10,000 seat, multipurpose regional entertainment and sports venue located in downtown Bridgeport. The objective is to rejuvenate the facility to generate jobs and economic impact, strengthen Connecticut's tourism economy, enhance transit-oriented development opportunities, and deliver equitable community benefits to Bridgeport residents and surrounding neighborhoods. The facility has historically served as the home ice for the American Hockey League affiliate of the Bridgeport Islanders and has hosted various major concerts, shows, and community events. The City is seeking developers and operators to write the next chapter in the Arena's history and stands ready to offer partnership and capital support for this initiative.
