The purpose of the project is to satisfy mitigation requirements imposed on the County by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife for a separate in-channel reconfiguration and levee rehabilitation project that the County completed on Lower Cache Creek in 2022 and 2024. This work is primarily grant-funded through a project partnership agreement between the County and the State of California Department of Water Resources. The scope of work includes site preparation (e.g., invasive species control and soil amendments), installation of native plantings and irrigation systems, and protection and documentation of plantings. The Contractor shall provide ongoing maintenance, monitoring, and reporting during the warranty period, including replacement of failed plantings as necessary to meet specified performance standards. Optional post-warranty maintenance and monitoring may be required to support long-term establishment of the restoration areas. A pre-mandatory bid conference is scheduled at the Cache Creek Nature Preserve in Woodland, California. After visiting the Cache Creek Nature Preserve site, attendees will depart together to the second project location. Please park in the designated parking area and meet at the wetland overlook adjacent to the parking lot. Participants will be guided to the restoration area. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. All bids will be compared using the Opinion of Probable Cost (OPC) prepared by the AE of Record for the project. For the purposes of bonding, the OPC for the base bid work is in the range of $170,000 to $230,000. The OPC for Bid Alternative 1 (the additional four years of maintenance and monitoring) is in the range of $93,500 to $126,500.
