Renovation of a museum in Saint Louis, Missouri. Completed plans call for the renovation of a museum.
Sealed bids are requested for STEAM BOILER UPGRADES PHASE 1 at the St. Louis Art Museum, Project No. 089360.000. The Owner reserves the right to waive informalities in bids or to reject any and all bids. Requests for electronic copies of the bid documents or questions regarding the scope of work must be submitted in writing. Questions over the phone will not be accepted. Bid documents are available at a specified date and time. Interested Parties Requiring Further Clarification or Interpretation of This Request for Proposals Shall Make a Request by E-mail to Owner's Project Administrator at "Mark.macinski@slam.org", or by Phone to Owner's Project Administrator (Mark Macinski) at 314.655.5397, Which Shall Reach the Project Administrator (I) No Later Than May 1, 2026. The project described within the attached drawings and specifications consists of the expansion of the central steam humidification plant at the Saint Louis Art Museum. This includes the addition of two (2) 80-HP steam boilers, a deaerator feedwater system, a carbon filtration and water softening system, and a blowdown system. The new equipment will be located in open area in the south end of the boiler mechanical room and will tie into the existing steam piping main in the north end of the same room. The existing steam boilers will remain after this project, serving as a manual backup to the new steam humidification system. New equipment, specifically the new boilers, may be brought in through the boiler room area well, at the southeast corner of that room. Smaller equipment may be brought in through the double doors at the north end of the boiler mechanical room; however, the location of the existing steam boilers will limit the size of the equipment that can fit through that path. For any equipment that is brought in through the area well, the contractor must provide any cranes/hoists/gantries required to lower the equipment down. Specific details will be given at the pre-bid walkthrough as to where a crane may be parked in the south orchard in order to shorten the pick for the new boilers. The contractor is responsible for repairing any damage to the orchard occurred during construction.
