The Luso Canadian Charitable Society is undertaking a significant supportive-housing development at 922 Main Street East, Hamilton, Ontario, consisting of the adaptive reuse of the existing heritage church structure and the construction of a new 6-storey residential building. The completed facility is intended to provide 30 residential units and accommodate up to 45 individuals requiring long-term, professionally supported housing services. This development forms part of Luso's broader initiative to expand accessible, inclusive, and community-based residential care for adults with physical and developmental disabilities. The project integrates heritage restoration, new construction, and modern accessibility standards within a single coordinated development located in a dense urban environment. ONIT Construction Inc. has been retained as the Construction Manager for this project. In this capacity, ONIT is responsible for administering the construction management process, including pre-construction planning, trade procurement, coordination of subcontracted work, construction oversight, and the implementation of site safety and quality-control measures. ONIT will act on behalf of the Owner in managing the competitive procurement of trade contractors and in overseeing the execution of the Work in accordance with the project's design, schedule, and regulatory requirements. This Request for Tender (RFT) is issued for the purpose of soliciting competitive bids from qualified Masonry Contractors with the experience, capacity, and technical capability to perform the masonry scope of work for this project, including blockwork, brickwork, repointing, and associated structural or architectural masonry elements. Submission of a Tender does not guarantee award of a contract, nor does it create any contractual or legal obligations on the part of ONIT or the Owner. ONIT reserves the full and unfettered discretion to modify, cancel, or proceed with this RFT, and to award or not award a contract to any Tenderer at its sole discretion.
