The project consists of districtwide plumbing upgrades under Phase 2 for the La Mesa-Spring Valley School District. Work will be performed from June 10, 2026 to January 4th, 2027. Base Bid - New Installations (42 Devices) The Contractor shall furnish and install a total of forty-two (42) new Zurn 975XL2 backflow prevention assemblies at the following school sites: o Rolando Elementary School 6925 Tower St., La Mesa 91942 o STEAM Academy 1001 Leland St., Spring Valley, CA 91977 o Maryland Avenue Elementary School 5400 Maryland Ave., La Mesa, CA 91942 o Murray Manor Elementary School 8305 El Paso, St., La Mesa, CA 91942 o Northmont Elementary School 9405 Gregory St., La Mesa, CA 91942 (Note: Devices will be distributed across the listed sites as indicated in the project plans.) 2.2 Additive Alternate #1 - Removal and Replacement (123Devices) An additive bid item is included for the removal of one hundred twenty-three (123) existing Zurn 950XL backflow devices and replacement with Zurn 975XL2 assemblies. This work is not part of the Base Bid and will be performed only upon written authorization by the District. The removal and replacement work will occur at the following sites: o Avondale Elementary School (14) o Bancroft Elementary School (5) o Casa de Oro Elementary School (5) o Fletcher Hills Elementary School (7) o Highlands Elementary School (15) o Kempton Elementary School (5) o La Mesa Dale Elementary School (9) o La Presa Elementary School (6) o Lemon Avenue Elementary School (8) o Murdock Elementary School (4) o Rancho Elementary School (11) o La Mesa Arts Academy (19) o Spring Valley Academy (15) New Backflow Device Installation (Base Bid) The Contractor shall: o Furnish and install Zurn 975XL2 backflow prevention assemblies as specified in the plans and product data sheets o Install new concrete pads for each backflow assembly o Provide and install all required piping, fittings, valves, and appurtenances necessary for a complete and operational system o Furnish and install protective cages/enclosures for each backflow device o Ensure all installations are level, secure, and compliant with manufacturer recommendations and applicable codes Removal and Replacement (Additive Alternate #1) If authorized by the District, the Contractor shall: o Remove existing Zurn 950XL backflow devices o Furnish and install Zurn 975XL2 replacement devices o Modify or replace piping and appurtenances as necessary to accommodate new devices o Restore all affected areas to equal or better condition All removed backflow devices shall: o Remain the property of the District o Be palletized and delivered by the Contractor to the District Operations Center: 3838 Conrad Drive, Spring Valley, CA 91977
