The project involves a City-initiated Comprehensive Zoning Map Amendment affecting a defined section of East Biloxi. The amendment proposes changing the zoning of 295 parcels currently designated RS-5, RM-20, RM-30, LB, and NB to CB Community Business. The affected area includes parcels fronting Howard Avenue from Claiborne Street to Cadet Street, as well as parcels south of Howard Avenue to Beach Boulevard from Kuhn Street to Cadet Street. Parcels currently zoned WF and CB are excluded from the proposed rezoning. The Biloxi Planning Commission voted unanimously (14-0) to approve the request on December 18, 2025, and the City Council is scheduled to hear the case on January 27, 2026.
