Asbestos abatement and renovation of a military facility in Athens, Georgia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a military facility; and for asbestos abatement for a military facility.

Abate asbestos floor tiles and install new approved tiles in building 1, rooms 734, 735A, 735B, 736 at the United States National Poultry Research Center in Athens, GA. See attached Statement of Work for a complete description of requirements. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which will be considered by the agency. The completion of this project shall not exceed 45 days from date of notice to proceed. All individuals interested in attending the site visit must RSVP by emailing spencer.hamilton@usda.gov and walt.dennis@usda.gov, no later than 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Monday April 27, 2026, with a list of names of attendees. All questions pertaining to this solicitation, including questions that arise during the site visit, must be submitted to spencer.hamilton@usda.gov by 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time, Friday, May 1, 2026. The United States National Poultry Research Center (USNPRC) is seeking a contractor with extensive knowledge and expertise with design and facilities operations within animal agricultural research laboratories. USNPRC is designed to contain Bio-Safety Level (BSL) -2, BSL-3, ABSL-3, and BSL-3Ag animal agricultural research. Companies associated with services for the facility shall fully understand the construction types and maintenance methods associated with these facilities. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) requires the abatement of asbestos floor tiles and installation of new approved tiles in building 1, rooms 734, 735A, 735B, 736 at 950 College Station Road, Athens, GA. The contractor shall furnish all labor, supervision, materials, tools, equipment, and services necessary to remove the deteriorating sheetrock and paint, paint an epoxy to seal the walls, install drip pans under the leaking areas, pipe the drain pans to the floor drains located in the mechanical spaces, and hang sound proofing panels over the epoxy. The contractor will do so in accordance with project requirements, drawings, and applicable codes. All work shall be performed in occupied, operational facilities and coordinated with USDA personnel to minimize disruption. Work includes, but is not limited to, demolition, fabrication, installation, coordination, and cleanup activities necessary to complete the scope described herein
