Site work and new construction of a fire / police facility in McHenry, Illinois. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a fire / police facility.

The McHenry Township Fire Protection District is planning a dedicated firefighter training facility on a three-acre parcel along Dot Street, between the Amrize (formerly Holcim Lafarge) gravel pit on Route 120 and the school bus barn. The proposed facility would support training for approximately 140 full- and part-time firefighters and include live-fire training capabilities and storage space. The district has set aside $1 million for the project, though final costs are undetermined as no architect or engineer has yet been retained.
