This Project has an MWBE attainable goal of 30% A. The overall project as described below is being split into 3 primary phases 1. Phase 1: Demo & Abatement (Current Phase) 2. Phase 2: New Construction, Renovation, Site work Including play equipment 3. Phase 3: Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment B. The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following 1. The John Winthrop Elementary School is located at 85 Eckart Street and was built in 1955 with an addition added in 1969. The building spaces are located on three levels with a total of 89,508 square feet of space. The school includes grades PK-8th with a current enrollment of 596 students. There are numerous existing building shortcomings, including life safety, hazardous materials, and accessibility issues, which must be corrected. The building's mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems are outdated and must be replaced to provide a modern and productive learning environment. Any questions regarding this bid must be presented in writing and may be posted directly on the Opengov website. The cut-off date for questions and answers is 4:00P.M. on Friday, April 30, 2026. Three separate, sealed bids for individual bid packages for the John Winthrop Elementary School Renovation in Bridgeport, Connecticut will be received. Each bid must include one original, two copies, and a thumb drive. Late bids or bids delivered to any other location will not be accepted. Bid packages and the invitation are posted online. Bidders with bids exceeding $500,000 must be pre-qualified by the State of Connecticut Department of Administrative Services for the classification of work being bid on. Plans and specifications may be purchased or downloaded from DigiPrint. Only bidders who have purchased a full set of documents are eligible to receive addenda. All contracts are held directly by the City of Bridgeport. The project is covered by a Project Labor Agreement and is open to all bidders.
