This project consists of a request to establish a Conditional Use to allow large-scale earth mining operations, including excavation, blasting, and material processing, on approximately 1,401.8 acres in Collier County, Florida. The proposed Capling SR 29 Mine would operate on land zoned Rural Agricultural with multiple overlays, including the Rural Lands Stewardship Area Overlay and Area of Critical State Concern. The approval would enable a significant private civil mining operation north of Oil Well Road and east of State Road 29, advancing through the county’s zoning and land development entitlement process.
