Renovation of a multi-residential development in Bakersfield, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a multi-residential development.
Sealed proposals are invited for the Little Village RAD Improvements project located at 714 Smith Street, Bakersfield, County of Kern, State of California. B-General Contractors and Sub-Contractors are required to attend a Pre-Bid Conference to familiarize themselves with contract requirements and may visit the project site. Interested firms must submit company information to be placed on the plan-holders list. Only contractors licensed per Chapter 9 of Division 3 of the Business and Professions Code are eligible. All contractors and subcontractors must obtain the required business license and are responsible for submitting original certified payroll reports monthly. Each bid must include a certified cashier’s check or bidder’s bond amounting to at least five percent (5%) of the bid price. The project is financed by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and is subject to Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, requiring employment and contracting opportunities for lower income project area residents and businesses. Contractors must comply with all HUD and State of California requirements, including Davis-Bacon prevailing wage rates and affirmative action for equal employment opportunity as specified in the contract documents.
