This specification establishes the general requirements for the inspection and reconditioning of valves and the repair and servicing of valves at the electric generating plants. This includes the labor, parts, materials, tools, and equipment required to complete the inspection, reconditioning, and repair of valves and the repair and servicing of valve actuators. Work such as inspections, servicing, repairs, and testing shall be authorized by the City with the issuance of a City Purchase Order. The bidder must include transportation costs to and from shop facilities using the Hopkins Generating Station or the Purdom Generating Station, as the site of origin. All valve repair, rebuild, and valve actuator repair and servicing work will be done on an as-needed basis. No minimum quantity of work associated with the contract is guaranteed. No employee or representative of the Contractor will be admitted to the site of the work unless they have been identified and cleared by the City.
