Site work for a water / sewer project in Simpsonville, Kentucky. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The project consists of the construction of the US 60 & Chambers Lane Waterline Replacement for the West Shelby Water District in Shelby County, Kentucky. Work includes installing approximately 650 linear feet of 12-inch Ductile Iron Class 350 pipe, 380 linear feet of 6-inch PVC SDR 21 pipe, and all other necessary appurtenances. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond of not less than five percent of the base bid. The selected contractor shall execute a 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Payment Bond, and provide insurance as required in the General Conditions. The project must be completed within 30 calendar days after authorization to start work. Liquidated damages are set at $1,000 per calendar day for late completion. Bidders must have experience with similar projects in congested areas with multiple utilities, and references will be requested and reviewed. Compliance with Section 3, Section 109, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Anti-Kickback Act, and the Contract Work Hours Standard Act is required. Bidders must certify non-segregated facilities for employees. The West Shelby Water District reserves the right to reject any and all bids and waive informalities. Small, minority, women-owned businesses, and labor surplus area firms are encouraged to bid. Question Deadline 04/24/2026 All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to Engineer in writing. Questions received less than five days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered.
