The contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, supplies, facilities, transportation, tools, materials, lockout tagout, supervision, and other items and non-personal services necessary to perform electrical repairs and service. The work includes shutting down, making safe, LOTO, and testing all energized parts in accordance with NFPA 70E. The specific scope is to furnish and install all new porcelain insulators and new stainless-steel hardware within Switch 1 (SW1), furnish and install one new S&C fuse holder assembly, clean and lubricate all mechanisms within the switch (2 sets of 3) per NFPA 70B and the manufacturer’s recommendations, and field test insulation resistance and contact resistance within the switch as per NFPA 70B and the manufacturer’s recommendations. All work plans and materials must be submitted for approval 21 calendar days prior to planned installation. Notification of all on-site work is required 7 calendar days in advance. The contractor must have a minimum of 5 years of experience repairing and testing medium voltage equipment and performing medium voltage LOTO; if subcontractors are used, they must have similar experience and a history of working together. Bidders should review all documents and coordinate with the Project Engineer/Manager prior to any field work to discuss work methods, infection control, life safety, permits, schedule, and shutdowns. Some off-hours work may be required. Bidders must submit a price schedule and a past performance worksheet with their quote.
