Site work for an educational facility in Milan, Michigan. Completed plans call for site work for a educational facility.
The work involves the removal and replacement of the 4-inch domestic water service at Milan Middle School. The contractor is to obtain all required permits, furnish and install approximately 320 lineal feet of 4-inch Class 52 ductile iron water service pipe, cap both ends for pressure testing, perform two sanitary bacteria tests and one water main pressure test, furnish and place detour signage, install a 4-inch gate valve at the school connection point and connect the service lead to the valve in the street, cap both ends of the abandoned main, lay and compact up to 4 inches of Hot Mix Asphalt, repair any sidewalk and curb removed for water line installation, and asphalt patch the trench with up to 4 inches of HMA. There is a deduct alternate to substitute DR18 C900 pipe in lieu of ductile iron for the entire service installation, and an add alternate to furnish, place, and compact All-Weather asphalt patch for the road opening in lieu of HMA. Seeding and mulching are excluded, and no work is implied beyond the specified scope. Proposers must provide fixed pricing for the base bid and all alternates. Proposals must include company name, address, contact information, contractor's license, proof of insurance or insurability, at least two references for comparable projects, a brief project schedule and approach, any clarifications or exceptions to the scope, warranty information, and a completed Statement Regarding Familial Relationships. Proposals will be evaluated on total proposed cost, relevant experience and references, proposed schedule and approach, and completeness and responsiveness of the proposal. The contractor must comply with all relevant codes and regulations, coordinate with local authorities, and maintain specified insurance, with Milan Area Schools named as an additional insured on all applicable policies. All materials and workmanship must meet specified standards and no additional work will be permitted without written authorization.
