Site work for a bridge / tunnel in New York, New York. Conceptual plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.
This project will rehabilitate the bridge carrying the Van Wyck Expressway over the Long Island Expressway and nine associated ramps in Queens County, New York City. The scope includes rehabilitation of the bridge deck, bearings, and steel members, along with replacement of bridge barriers and armored joints. The work is intended to correct structural deficiencies, extend the service life of the structure, reduce long-term life-cycle maintenance costs, and ensure the safety of the traveling public. Construction is anticipated to begin in fall 2031 following a summer 2031 bid opening, with completion expected in winter 2033/2034.
