Renovation of a power facility in Westfield, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a power facility.
The crane is a double girder, top running bridge crane with a single main hook of 45-ton rated capacity, originally designed with a 40-ton rated capacity but was uprated to 45-ton to accommodate a heavier pick. The bridge crane's trolley houses the major hoisting equipment items, including the motor, gearbox, drums and associated bull gear, hoist brake, trolley drive including idler bogies, structural frame, and miscellaneous shafting and bearings. The existing crane shall be removed and replaced and will operateon the existing runway and rail with minor modifications. Contractor must agree to pay Davis Bacon wage rates or MA Prevailing Wage rates whenever applicable. The SWSC reserves the right to waive any informality in, or to revoke, any or all bids, if in the public interest to do so. All questions regarding bid or its specifications must be made in writing and received by the Chief Procurement Officer by April 17, 2026 in order to be considered (contact: edward.sweeney@waterandsewer.org). The Contractor will be responsible for the work described in general as: 1. Removal and disposal of the existing 45-ton bridge crane 2. Engineering, supply, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning of a new 45-ton bridge crane 3. Further scoping details are provided in associated Specification Sections;
